Aaron Morey - Chief Economist CCIWA
Aaron Morey is the Chief Economist and Executive Director of Policy, Influence, and Strategy at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCIWA). In this role, he leads the organisation's economic reform and advocacy efforts. Prior to joining CCIWA in January 2020, Aaron served as the Principal Economic Adviser to Western Australia's Treasurer, Ben Wyatt, where he was instrumental in initiatives such as red tape reduction, GST reforms, and asset sales. Throughout his career, Nathan has amassed significant experience in the criminal justice sector, holding various positions over 12 years, followed by a decade in local government management and senior roles. His leadership at DAC has been transformative, focusing on self-determination, sustainable development, and cultural preservation. General Manager, Industrial Lands Authority and Regional DevelopmentWA Matt Read is responsible for DevelopmentWA’s Industrial Lands Authority and Regional program. Leading a team of land development professionals implementing State Government economic growth strategies and facilitating new investment in industrial developments across WA, Matt plays a key role in corporate management, strategic planning and project implementation. Matt has 30 years’ experience in planning and land development across public and private sectors. Before stepping into the position of General Manager, he was Business Manager within DevelopmentWA’s Metropolitan program, supervising some of Perth’s most significant development projects including Ocean Reef Marina, Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct, and Cockburn Central/West. He was also previously responsible for DevelopmentWA’s Pilbara program, which formed part of the State Government’s $1.1 billion Pilbara Cities initiative. Matt holds an undergraduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Graduate Certification in Project Management. He is well placed to discuss the future opportunities and challenges of land development in the ever-changing WA market. |
