Michael Ridout: Leader, Western Australian Node for Food Agility Cooperative Research CentreMichael is the Western Australian Node Leader of the newly founded Food Agility Cooperative Research Centre.
He has worked in building partnerships amongst academia, business and government sectors for thirty years across Australia, with a focus on sound business development and relationships management. He has built up many research groups and expanded their impact nationally, and formed international relationships. In addition he has established and managed an industry consortium of over 100 companies within a “virtual cluster”. He has worked in teams that have attracted substantial funding from a range of sources to support projects, including three CRCs. His last CRC involvement saw $21m brought in to WA between 2003-2014, and included building a successful bid of 100 participants for $60m. He has strong interests in research-based collaborations for end-users, with an in-depth understanding and application of research and development (R&D) funding and management, intellectual property and related commercialisation and technology transfer activities. |
