Jim Engelke: General Manager, KAIJim is the General Manager for Kimberley Agriculture Investment (KAI) who has been developing irrigated farming land since 2013. Current activities include completing the development and farming of the Goomig land parcel (6,665ha). KAI is pursuing a further 20-25,000 ha for development in the Kununurra area. Crops grown to date include chia, quinoa, maize, sorghum, millet. Future crops will include cotton, chickpeas, mung beans.
Jim’s work history has been focused on involvement in the agribusiness sector including; beef cattle, sugar agronomy, managing a fruit and vegetable wholesale business, bank manager until commencing work with KAI. Jim has spent most of his working career based in the Kimberley region. Completed a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) and holds a MBA. |
